Don’t Skip That Vacation – The Mental Health Benefits of Taking Time Off

Don’t Skip That Vacation: The Mental Health Benefits of Taking Time Off

We all need a little time off to rest, relax and recharge our batteries. So why don’t we do it more often? According to a study by the U.S. Travel Association, 46% of Americans don’t utilize their paid time off. Hustle culture helps grow businesses, but it is your mental health that pays the price. Fatigue, burnout, anxiety, boredom – as a small business owner, you’ve probably run the gamut of all these emotions.

However, it’s time to get strategic and get away for vacation. Hightened Path RV Rentals reports that time-off benefits are great for your mental health (and your business).

Stress Reduction

According to the American Institute of Stress, 40% of workers find their jobs extremely stressful. And we all know that stress leads to an increased risk of heart disease, stroke, blood pressure, and sleep problems. The best way to disassociate your anxiety? Take a vacation! The American Psychological Association reports that the most effective way to reduce stress is to remove people from the activities and environments they associate with worry and anxiety.

Thus, even a little staycation in your city or a one-day getaway can work wonders for your mental health. Just be sure to give your vacation your all and avoid any work-related activities to reap the full benefits of your time off.

Let Go

Control and stress are intrinsically linked. Most small business owners find it challenging to delegate the many responsibilities on their plate. But the more you think you need to do everything yourself, the more your anxieties will pile up. Going on vacation will require you to let go of your tight hold on business affairs, but you can make it easier for yourself by handling essential matters before take off.

Ensure each member of your team knows exactly what to do when you’re away. Also, ensure you’ve talked to vendors, automated billing, and done a few tasks ahead so you can rest assured when you’re away. Send that out-of-office email and set that ‘do not disturb’ status to ensure you’re left in peace.

It may also make sense to ensure you have a registered agent who manages and receives legal documents on behalf of your business. That way, if any time-sensitive matters – such as lawsuits, garnishment notices, tax issues, and annual report problems – come up, you’ll be in the loop and appraised on how to handle the situation.

Have Fun

One of the best ways to up your productivity, motivation, and overall joie de vivre is to relax and have fun. Because when you’re happier, you excel at what you do. When you’re away, try to engage in activities that induce happiness while challenging and stimulating your entire being. While lounging by the pool with some cocktails and a beach read is excellent, it’s not going to let your mind fully relax from all the work strains.

Engaging in adventure sports or high-intensity exercise is a great option because it allows your mind to focus on one feeling and thought rather than dredging up business matters from the past. Kayaking and paddleboarding, as well as other adventure sports, are the perfect solutions if you’re in the Colorado Springs, CO area (or plan to visit). With different options for newbies and advanced adventurers alike, pushing your mental and physical limits is sure to have you invigorated like nothing else.

We get it – as a small business owner, taking time off is easier said than done. The pressure to keep your business running like a well-oiled machine is immensely high. Not to mention, the control you’d need to give up when going on vacation can be daunting. But it is time to book that vacation and live your best adventurous life. You’ll hit all your business goals while upping the quality of your life along the way.

Pandemic Evolution: Fast Changes and Growing Pains

During the pandemic, we have had no time to stop and have an existential moment about all the changes we have endured. Yet every day, we are living our lives in radically different ways than we used to. So many aspects of our lives have changed and adapting has been difficult. The benefits and challenges that come with each of these changes will play out over many years.

An Inventory of Changes

The pandemic has offered us lessons in resilience. It has caused us to make major life changes — some forced and others, chosen. From having to find new employment to working at home while raising kids, our work lives have shifted. Even the way we grocery shop is different, as well as the way we think about germs and safety and breathing one another’s air.

Since there has been no working out at the gym, people found alternative methods to stay fit. Gathering with loved ones has changed and, in some cases, ceased. For many, seeing loved ones on a computer screen has been a fill-in until face-to-face visits can resume. For the hundreds of thousands of people who have lost loved ones to the pandemic, the ultimate price was paid. It has been a long, tragic ordeal.

It can be difficult to identify positive outcomes from tragic global events, yet creating meaning is an important part of healing. The pandemic has left most of us desperate for normalcy. When our lives are altered drastically, we tend to reconsider what is most important. It shakes up our daily routines and moves us out of autopilot, which can offer benefits and tether us more closely to what’s important.

Reassessing Intent and Purpose

There are many ways people have shifted their goals as a result of COVID-19, such as pursuing a new career path. A flexible way to earn a degree right now is online. An online master’s degree in IT could train you in lucrative, high-demand positions like information technology management, data analytics, or cybersecurity. Teaching is another rewarding path that positively impacts others and offers a deep sense of purpose in life. There is a high demand for teachers of all ages.

The pandemic has forced us to reassess what is valuable. Many parents have made the shift to working at home, even though it has been a challenge to adapt. As a result, parents are observing important moments they would have missed while at the office. This has been a gift out of the many challenges during pandemic times. If this journey has taught us anything, it is the importance of creating joy and meaning in our lives and experiencing a more satisfying life with fewer regrets.

Recommitting to Joy

Exploring joy is a highly individualized pursuit. A key factor in identifying personal sources of joy is examining what an experience means to you and why. Traveling is a valuable pursuit for mental health and emotional wellness — it exposes us to different lifestyles and cultures. RV travel is a good alternative that limits exposure to large groups. With an increase in customers interested in pursuing travel trailers as a safe way to vacation, Hightened Path RV Rentals is ready to serve.

Diving into creative outlets is another great way to access more joy in daily life. Learning a new skill or hobby can be vastly rewarding, and you may even find that it could turn into a sideline. Self-expression is key to finding joy and can also help in stress reduction. Creative physical outlets such as dancing, hula hooping, creating music, and engaging in mindfulness exercises such as yoga can be stimulating and rejuvenating.

Reconnection and relaxation are important, particularly during these difficult times. Pursuing new paths to joy and meaning is healthy, whether it is through training for new career options, learning a new skill, or seeing new sites. The pandemic is shaping all of us in different ways, and some of those changes can be positive and uplifting.

Experience the spacious interiors and comfort of our long-term RV rentals.

Alright, let’s delve into extended RV rentals, shall we? Long-term RV rental comes into play when you require prolonged accommodation without opting for a hotel stay, lengthy daily commutes, or the purchase of a temporary travel trailer. Sound simple enough? Choosing a long-term RV rental provides the convenience of having all the amenities and comforts of home or a hotel at your disposal, minus the drawbacks associated with traditional options. Whether the RV or travel trailer is stationed at your property, an RV park, or a remote job site, we’re here to provide comprehensive assistance, offering delivery, setup, and pickup services at any location. Reach out to us directly for a personalized quote and a free consultation tailored to your specific requirements. We prioritize asking the right questions in advance to ensure that the RV rental suits your needs, the delivery and setup process is seamless, and there are no unexpected surprises. Upon delivery and setup, we conduct a thorough walkthrough to provide adequate training and support for your temporary stay in the trailer. Whether you’re a first-timer or an experienced RV dweller, your comfort and confidence in using the RV throughout the rental period are our utmost priority. Here are some real-life scenarios that highlight the versatility of long-term RV rentals

Temporary Residential Property – Renovation or Need more room for your holidays

Looking for a Temporary Residential Property for your extended holiday needs? Consider this: If you’re expanding your property, renovating your existing house, or have undergone a distressing event such as a fire, earthquake, or flood resulting in property damage, you may find yourself in need of disaster relief. In such situations, renting an RV long-term can serve as a viable solution, offering the flexibility to use it until your house or property construction or remodeling is completed. This provides a comfortable and practical alternative during your transition period, ensuring that you have a suitable living space until your permanent residence is ready

Job Site or Temporary office site or On Location Housing

Consider this: Whether you’re launching a new business and require temporary office space or you are a well-established company in need of spacious temporary living quarters for your employees at a job site or remote location, long-term RV rental offers the ideal solution. The RV comes fully equipped with essential amenities such as water, battery, toilet, and shower, making it suitable for your unique needs. Our delivery service ensures that the trailer is conveniently transported to your desired location, providing exclusive access and all the necessary facilities without the need for a temporary purchase. You have the flexibility to utilize the RV for as long as necessary, based on your specific requirements. All that’s required is an external water supply and access to electricity to ensure a seamless experience.

Job Relocation Housing Assistance
Find convenient and comfortable housing solutions for your job relocation needs.

Disaster Relief or Temporary Military Move

Consider another scenario: the unforeseen impact of natural disasters. Whether your home has been affected by a devastating event like a fire, earthquake, or flood, or if you’re in the military and require temporary accommodation due to a relocation, our long-term RV rentals can address your specific needs. With Texas and Louisiana being home to several military bases, it is common for military personnel to move temporarily to the area and require interim living arrangements while settling into the region or awaiting permanent housing. If you’re arriving for a short-duration stay and need time to acclimate and secure a permanent residence, a long-term RV rental offers a practical and flexible solution to address your transitional housing needs.

Great rates and discounts the longer you rent

So let me just make sure I specify this, it’s crucial to highlight the significant discounts associated with long-term rentals. However, it’s important to note that during the summer – which marks the high season in Texas, Louisiana and surrounding states – securing long-term RV rentals or substantial discounts can be more challenging due to heightened demand. Nevertheless, should an RV remain unrented for extended periods during the summer, we can certainly consider adjusting the pricing to provide temporary housing solutions that cater to your specific requirements.

You may need to cover basic electricity and water connections

Scenic Long-Term RV Location
Relax in the serene and scenic surroundings of our long-term RV rental location.

Now, there is a requirement and flip side to all of this. One of the biggest reasons why may not always work in some situations. You will need water, electricity and sewer. Ensuring consistent access to external electricity and water connections is crucial and has its limitations. RVs include freshwater and holding tanks, however, their capacity is limited, typically lasting only a few days. When stationed at your property and plugged into an electricity source, along with access to water, the long-term rental becomes feasible and convenient. But a lot of people think to themselves, “Well I’m just gonna rent the RV and I’m gonna live in it and just park it on the side of the road or stay at Walmart”. It’s important to note that parking an RV on the roadside or staying at commercial establishments like Walmart is not permissible due to the essential requirement for a designated location with electricity and water connections. This also aligns with our need to sustain the financial viability of long-term rentals. Why? Because remember that very cheap RV rentals might not be in great condition or very spacious. So, it’s important for us to make sure the price is fair for us as well when we are offering newer, spacious RV trailers to rent long term.

3, 6, 9, 12, yearly or month to month RV rentals

We are here to assist with various long-term RV rental and temporary housing needs. Whether you’re seeking a 6-month, 3-month, or month-to-month arrangement, we’re prepared to accommodate your requirements. Additionally, if your rental duration is uncertain, we can offer flexible pricing based on the length of your RV rental, ensuring the best possible solution for your specific needs

Conclusion

In conclusion, long-term RV rentals present a versatile and practical solution for diverse housing needs, including temporary relocations, business setups, disaster relief, and interim military transitions. The flexibility in rental durations, coupled with the considerations for power and water access, underscores the accommodating nature of this housing option. While navigating fluctuations in pricing based on rental duration, it’s essential to ensure fair arrangements that satisfy both the renter and the provider. Overall, long-term RV rentals offer a viable, comfortable, and cost-effective housing alternative for a variety of scenarios, providing a seamless transition period for individuals and businesses alike.

So hopefully this helps answer this question and if you have any more questions on long-term rentals, just give us a call and we’ll be happy to assist you. Thanks for watching!

ARE THERE EXCEPTIONS TO WHERE I CAN DRIVE THE RV RENTAL?

“Are there exceptions to where I can take the RV Rental?” Yes, just one. You can’t take RVs to Mexico! Period. No questions asked. No RV is allowed to go to Mexico. And if you found someone who allowed you to do this, I would be very leery of it, because if something were to happen to the RV, God forbid, you will be in a world of hurt and a world of problems. Having said that, where can you take an RV rental? Anywhere in the United States and anywhere in Canada, assuming you have a passport to get into Canada. So, I hope this helps and I hope that answers that question. I get this call every once in a while, so there you go.
